The Grand Vision in the schools

TV 7 & 4 has a nice video feature about student involvement in the Grand Vision Decision. They relate that students at Traverse City West High School held an assembly last fall to inform students about the project and are now working to get as many students as possible to participate.

The students say they have also been working with the Social Studies Department and talking to parents at parent teacher conferences to get the word out to kids. Schools in all six counties involved in the Grand Vision Project are working in similar ways to get the word out.

50 years…

Island Lake Road

Island Lake Road, photo by ( Jennifer ).

Jennifer took this photo in Kalkaska County, Michigan, discovering what remains with an old friend.

What can change in 50 years is astonishing. While none of us can predict or plan for everything, each of us holds a measure of what could be or an idea of what things should not become.

This blog will seek to share visions of the next 50+ years of development in Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau and Wexford counties in Northern Michigan. Some will come from The Grand Vision, others from organizations that are involved and still more from people like you.

Please share your vision. The future of our area is too important not to.
